The platform is built for publishers who want independent control over their monetization, are willing to work with direct SSPs, and will use their own Google Ad Manager (GAM). Please note that we require high-quality websites with significant traffic. All publishers are evaluated and approved based on our internal standards prior to onboarding.
The initial technical setup only takes a few hours, but getting started requires a phased approach. You will first run a test on a specific section or portion of your traffic before launching on your full inventory. It takes a couple of days to gather enough data to verify the setup and ensure buyers are activating. Following this test, a full performance evaluation is conducted using 2 to 4 weeks of data. After the test, the commercial details are to be agreed upon, and scaling to full inventory is a matter of a couple of more days.
Basic technical knowledge (such as working with ad tags or Google Ad Manager) is helpful. However, the platform is built to be user-friendly, and guidance is provided during setup. With Setupad, you do not need to be a developer to successfully launch and manage your own Header Bidding wrapper.
Self-Serve users have access to support resources, including documentation, onboarding guidance found in the knowledge base, and customer support when needed.
All features - including advanced tools like smart ad refresh - are included in our flat CPM fee. Depending on your plan, this fee is applied differently: for Free and Business tiers, the CPM is based on ad requests, while our Enterprise model is based strictly on ad impressions. There are never any hidden "add-on" costs for specific features.
There is no long-term commitment required. You simply need to agree to our standard terms and conditions to get started. Our basic terms include a 30-day notice to terminate the agreement. For billing and payouts, CPM charges for direct setups are processed at the end of the month, while reseller ad revenue payments are made on a Net 60 basis.
To set up and run Self-Serve, your email address must have administrator-level access to your Google Ad Manager (GAM) account. This ensures you have the necessary permissions to properly configure and manage integrations.
Yes, you can run both simultaneously. You can integrate your own direct demand alongside Setupad's reseller demand, allowing you to maximize competition and optimize your overall ad revenue.
Our platform offers two primary feature sets, each with its own billing structure:
Self-Serve Technology (Direct Partners): This feature allows you to manage your own direct relationships with partners like Google AdX, SSPs, and Amazon TAM. Setupad provides the unified auction technology and ad-serving infrastructure for these partners. For this service, we charge a flat ad-serving fee of €0.05 CPM (per 1,000 impressions), which is billed directly to your registered credit card. You continue to receive payments directly from your own partners according to your individual agreements with them.
Setupad Reseller Demand (Optional): You can also choose to enable Setupad's managed reseller demand as an additional revenue source. This feature operates on a 20% revenue share model. Unlike direct partners, these earnings are collected by Setupad and paid out to you on a net-60-day basis.
Prepaid Subscription and Credits: Platform usage is managed through prepaid ad impression credits, which are reduced based on the actual impressions served on your sites. Under the Business Plan, there are no free impressions included, and a fee of €0.05 net CPM (plus applicable VAT) applies. To ensure service continuity, the system automatically repurchases your chosen plan when credits run low. You can monitor your balance in the Billing section, update your payment methods, or cancel your subscription at any time.
