Content Marketing Manager

About us

Setupad is the ultimate tech bridge for publishers ready to in-house their programmatic monetization. We facilitate the crucial evolution from managed reseller models to full direct ownership. With Setupad, publishers own their Google Ad Manager (GAM) seats and direct relationships, while we deploy the enterprise-grade Prebid infrastructure to maximize their yield.

Founded in Riga in 2015, our monetization engine now powers over 500 international premium publishers, processing 4 billion+ ad impressions monthly. We are the first Google Certified Publishing Partner in the Baltics and a Prebid.org Tier 3 Technology Partner.

This role exists because the product needs someone who can explain it clearly enough that a publisher immediately understands what it does for their revenue.

The Role

You will own Setupad’s content – the blog, case studies, feature launches and newsletter that bring publishers to the website and turn them into platform signups.

The audience is the interesting part. Publishers and AdOps managers can tell within a paragraph whether the writer actually understands header bidding, so the job is to understand it – read the documentation, ask the engineers – and then write about it usefully rather than promotionally.

Tools: WordPress, Google Analytics and Search Console, Google Ads, email and social tooling – plus the stack you will be writing about: Prebid, Google Ad Manager, CMPs and Setupad Self-Serve.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Run the content engine. Plan and write the blog articles, guides and landing pages that grow organic traffic and convert it into signups. You own both the calendar and the words on the page.
  • Own how the product is explained. Take new features to market properly – the newsletter on why we built it, the release notes, the landing page and the follow-up. This is the work that most directly supports the roadmap.
  • Turn technology into plain language. Get into the details of how Prebid, header bidding, GAM integrations and consent management work, then explain them in the terms publishers care about – revenue, transparency and control.
  • Build the proof. Interview publishers and produce case studies with credible numbers behind them – the kind of evidence sales can send to a prospect and win with.
  • Handle external communications. Keep the newsletter, social channels and industry PR moments consistent and worth following, and be a visible presence in the publisher and adtech community.

What We’re Looking For

Must have skills

  • Excellent written English. Clarity, and the judgement to edit your own work to a publishable standard without a second pair of eyes.
  • Around 2-3+ years in content marketing, product marketing or technical B2B writing. The quality of the writing matters more to us than the exact number of years.
  • Genuine technical curiosity. You will happily read product documentation, work out what is significant in it, and go and ask an engineer about the rest. This is the single strongest predictor of success in this role.
  • Self-sufficiency. You can take a business goal, build your own plan from it, and ship consistently without being managed day to day.
  • Practical SEO and analytics skills. Keyword research, on-page optimisation, and comfort in WordPress, Google Analytics and Search Console.

Nice to have – or learnable here

  • Adtech or programmatic knowledge (Prebid, GAM, SSPs, header bidding). Valuable if you have it, and entirely learnable on the job if you don’t — the team will teach you.
  • Google Ads or paid campaign basics. Useful for amplifying content; this is not a performance-marketing role.
  • Writing for AI and generative search. An advantage as discovery shifts, and something you can develop here.
  • Community management, webinars or video. Welcome additions to how you reach the audience.
  • Design tools or basic HTML. Helpful for shipping independently, though design support is available.

Salary & Compensation

  • Base salary: 2500-3000 EUR gross per month, depending on experience.
  • Paid training and industry certifications to build the technical depth the role rewards.

The range is published deliberately. If your experience sits above it, tell us – we would rather have the conversation than lose a strong candidate over a number.

Benefits & Ways of Working

Setupad measures output rather than hours, and equips people properly. The practical detail:

Flexibility

  • Targets, not hours – a stated company principle. You are measured on what you produce, not when you are online.
  • Start as late as 11am and work in the hours you are most productive.
  • Hybrid working – the team meets at the Riga office two days a week over the summer and three days a week for the rest of the year.
  • Work away scheme – gives you the option to work away from your country of residence for up to 1 month in any 12 month period.

Health and everyday costs

  • Private health insurance
  • Paid lunch and paid parking
  • Phone bills covered

Equipment

  • MacBook, AirPods Pro, monitor and whatever else you need to do the work well

Team

  • Retreats and team events across Latvia, Lithuania and abroad, with a real effort to bring the offices together

Life at Setupad

Setupad runs on autonomy. People are given room to make their own decisions and are expected to use judgement rather than wait to be told.

Decisions get made quickly by the people closest to the work, and you will often be talking directly to the co-founders. Setupad’s B2B content has previously won a Golden Parrot award, so there is a standard to build on.

How to Apply

  1. An initial conversation with the recruiter to cover the role, the team and your expectations
  2. A Take Home Task to see if there is an alignment with your skills
  3. An interview with the Founder to discuss your task, the product, the audience and how you would approach the roadmap
  4. If all is good, an offer!

We aim to give every applicant a clear answer, and feedback to anyone we speak to.

Adjustments and accommodations are available at every stage of the process – just ask.

Whether that is extra time, a different interview format, accessibility requirements or something else, tell us what you need and we will arrange it. It has no bearing on how your application is assessed.
